Friendsggraph 2007 - Ultimate LightWave Tour

Press Release: KURV studios to host 4 day training seminar in Las Vegas

For Immediate Release – January 22, 2006, KURV studios to host a "Dream Team" of artists for a 4 Day Training Seminar in Las Vegas

Presenters : Timothy Albee, Nicholas Boughen, Tim Dunn, Dave Jerrard, Jennifer Hachigian, and Larry Shultz

KURV studios will be hosting an unprecedented four day training event this year in sunny Las Vegas. This year we are honored to have Timothy Albee, Nicholas Boughen, Tim Dunn, Dave Jerrard, Jennifer Hachigian, and Larry Shultz as the trainers. To effectively train someone not only do you have to know the software your training on but be able to convey those topics to a group in a manner they clearly understand. This group of artists has been either writing best selling LightWave books and videos, or actively helping the LightWave community for years now. Being able to sit and listen to these six dynamic artists in a two day training session will be invaluable.

Friendsggraph 2006 was extremely successful and we covered a lot of topics from rigging to character animation to modeling. We had a great time and all of the attendees gave us high points for the training. We asked the group what they would like to see the next year and what we could do to improve... and we listened.

We moved the training closer to the "strip", and this year we are covering a complete project from concept to render. Glen Southern, renowned character designer is creating an amazing robot warrior style character. Larry Shultz will show us how to model this beast, while Dave Jerrard and Nicholas Boughen texture and light it, and that's just by day 2. Then we move on and Larry & Timothy both show us there different rigging styles, and Timothy Albee who has spent the last year animating cylon's on Battlestar Galactica will show you how to animating this Character. We wrap up the last day with Jennifer Hachigian, Tim Dunn and Dave Jerrard showing you how to apply dynamics to the character and render the final scene.

This training will be much more than any other training seminar on LightWave ever done. The caliber of artists doing the training range from Spiderman III, Battlestar Galactica, I Robot, and many many more to plugin development and years of training experience. This is sure to be the training seminar that sets the bar for all LightWave seminars from this point forward. Don't miss this, this could be a once in a lifetime event. Did we mention it is in Vegas?

    Registration
The registration fee of 1199.95 includes the four day training and your hotel for those days (check in on the 11th and check out on the 16th). If you live in Vegas or do not need the hotel reservation the training cost alone are $599.80, that’s only $149.95 per day. This price is available for a limited time and will increase to $1389.72 for the training and hotel, or $689.77 for the training alone.

    1199.95 Registration includes:
    • 6 days, 5 nights at Suncoast Resorts and Casino's
    • 4 days of training, Thursday April 12th through Sunday April 15th
    • 25% Discount on LightWave 3D Purchases from KURV studios
    • 5 Free Video from KURV studios
    • Video of Training

    599.80 Registration includes:
    • 4 days of training, Thursday April 12th through Sunday April 15th
    • 15% Discount on LightWave 3D Purchases from KURV studios
    • 3 Free Video from KURV studios
    • Video of Training

    Video of Training to Attendees
KURV studios will be providing a video copy of the training to all attendees free of charge to eliminate the need for taking notes, just sit back and enjoy the training. Video of the dinners will be included.

    Space and Availability
Space is limited at this time to 65 attendees for the training and we have a limited hotel block already reserved. Due to the event being the week before NAB hotels are booking up quickly everywhere in Las Vegas. We may not be able to add to our reserved block for this event as time goes on, so registration timing is important.

I gotta see if I can get the funds together for this. I'd love to go! ...Vegas, Lightwave, and a hotel full of LW users... it doesn't get more appealing!

The line-up of instructors is fantastic! However, I was surprised to see that Proton wasn't leading any of the training.

EDIT: Kurv - how long is the limited offer of reduced rates available?

Yeah, me too! I might be in your backyard during the week before anyway, so going from Texas to Vegas isn't that bad really. Just need to ruffle up the cash!

Sounds like its gonna be a blast!

However, as always, living on the other side of the Planet kinda makes this 'unaffordable' given I'm running on a low income at the moment... I'd like to get to Siggraph too, but its gonna be a struggle to do one trip this year.

Good luck and hope people have a great time...

I talked to him... he may still come out. He wanted to and we had him on the schedule but he has a bunch of things he is working on, from toys, to films... We will know soon.

We would love to have him... he would be a great addition to the list .

Also talked to Glen Southern today... he is trying to come over as well... all I can say is wow...

The price change will happen at the end of Feb... even if you dont pay it all, you can reserve your place by contacting me.

    Kurv -

On the chance I'm unable to make it this year can I get a bid in for having Friendsggraph '08 in New York?
