    video wall mosaic wipe

Hey guys. Bit of a technical question here. I have a video wall, wrapping around a room. I need to map footage on it, then at a certain frame, have the monitors transition to different footage, but changing over one monitor at a time, like a mosaic wipe. Is there any way to do this via nodes, or a plugin?

    Thanks a bunch.

I have a small example attached with my idea.

The full area of my video wall screens is UV mapped as one surface.
I magnified a small rectangle of Photoshop noise into an image of random blocks that matches the screen count.
My A and B video images are mixed within a single surface in the node editor.

The block image sets the pattern for the mosaic wipe.
The add node holds the keyframes that drive the wipe transition.
The gradient node holds an opacity ramp that controls the dissolve softness of the wipe. A stepped gradient would produce a mosaic of hard cuts.

You're welcome to look it over, see if it makes sense, and use any or every portion of it without restriction. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the reply man, thats pretty awesome, never would have thought of it I think the only problem I'd run into, is with my UV map. My wall is panoramic with s-bends, so my uv map isn't the greatest I'll definitely try find a way to make this work, cause it exactly what I'm after.

Thanks so much for the input, its greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

Wow, I don't think I'll ever 'get' nodes.

You would think there would be a few books out on nodes by now.
