Sean M. Jackson is a extremely accomplished 3D artist having worked on feature films like Hell Boy, X-Men, Serenity, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Superman Returns to TV series like Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek Enterprise, and most recently Caprica.

But he was not always a 3D guru, Sean started his visual effects career as a traditional artist doing freelance and 2D work. After doing a intern gig at VSI Sean found his way to Foundation Imaging. It was Foundation where Sean honed his 3D abilities and met some of the industries leading players.

Since then Sean has worked on numerous feature films and television series. For the past several years Sean has been working for Gary Hutzel at Universal on Battlestar and Caprica.

The International LightWave 3D User Group is proud to interview Sean M. Jackson and get to chat with him for a little over an hour about his extensive work in the industry.

Sean M. Jackson has been nominated for an Emmy twice and won once. He has also been nominated for two VES Awards and won one of those as well.

Re: ILWUG: Interview with Sean M. Jackson

The interview with Sean M. Jackson could not have gone better. Sean thank you for your time today sir. We ran over and you were very gracious with your time.

If you did not get to hear the interview, you have to go spend a little over an hour and listen to the interview at www.ilwug.com. We will have the interview recorded up tomorrow afternoon.

Sean covers his work at Foundation Imaging, Battlestar Galactica, Serenity, Caprica, and more as well as his own personal 2D work also done in LightWave.

Sean covers life at studios, and as a professional visual effects artist. How to break into the industry and as an artist what to expect out of Hollywood.

It was a great 2 hours... an awesome interview.

    Thanks again Sean!

Loved it... there were so many things Sean talked about that I recognized from my workplace.

Re: ILWUG: Interview with Sean M. Jackson

Great couple of hours, I loved it!

You have no idea how much I appreciated and relate to your comment about having a pFX setup that just would not load up/calc correctly and instead of wasting billions of hours to try and fix it, you found it better/faster just to start over again. To tie this in with on of the last comments you made about what you want to see in LW, stability with pFX, and volumetrics would be GREATLY appreciated to see in LW!!!
