From a childhood beginning of monsters and robots to graduate of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco
California. Now at age 25 and working at Massive Black in San Francisco as a senior concept artist, Jason Chan
with his unmistakeable technique style and imagination have made him a leader in the game and concept art design field, and it was my pleasure to interview him for Spin Quad Entertainment.

SQ – Tell us a little bit about yourself, where were you born? When did you become interested in art? I was born in Stockton, California in 1983. I pretty much started drawing right away (maybe age 2 or 3) and kept on drawing to this day. I’ve always had a fascination with digital art. I remember making pixel art of Aliens on our Apple II GS.
SQ – Tell us a little bit about your background. I grew up drawing monsters and robots. I liked to draw things from video games, comic books, movies, etc. I was set on becoming an artist. I enrolled at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco as a 3D major and quickly switched over to illustration. While going to school, I began freelancing as an illustrator.
