SQ – I can see a bit of Tim Burton in your work is he a source of inspiration for you and who or what else would be? Tim Burton is one of my biggest along with Marc Craste (Jo Jo in the stars). I love their stylistic approaches. Along with films, games and other TV ads, too many to mention.

SQ - Your animation " The Little Thief" took you 18 months to complete and you received funding through the UK film council then it won the CFX Short Film Award. How long is the animation, how much if any did the council have to do with it other than funding, and how did you feel when you found out you had won? It was great to get the funding and paid for the things that I couldn't do like the sound FX and music. The film was around 4 and half minutes and film council were really good to work with. They handled getting it into the Edinburgh festival, promoting it and finding me a sales agent. The CFX film award was the icing on the cake as I got to go to Pinewood studios to get the sound remixed and a 35mm print from CFX. It was great apart from the very nerve wracking Q&A I had to do to a full cinema.
