We recently got the opportunity to speak to the very successful Bahrain artist Khalid Al Muharraqi about his life, the industry and the future of Muharraqi Studios.

SQ - Tell us a little bit about yourself, where were you born? When did you become interested in art or computers? I was born in 1972 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, a small group of islands in the Arabian Gulf. I was born into an artistic family and started with art when I was 7 years old. I have always been around my Father, a painter, observing him work and getting his guidance and advice. Computers came much later in my life at the Art Institute in Houston. I was forced to use computers since that was the medium required for visual communication, the first CG software I used was PSD version 2.0 and I have bean using Computers every since.
